{"id":2656,"date":"2016-06-17T14:03:22","date_gmt":"2016-06-17T22:03:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.threadedviews.com\/blog\/?p=2656"},"modified":"2023-08-13T12:24:59","modified_gmt":"2023-08-13T20:24:59","slug":"stem-education","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.threadedviews.com\/blog\/?p=2656","title":{"rendered":"Stem education"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve written about creating dandelion stems by painting on ribbon before, in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.threadedviews.com\/blog\/?p=2182\">this post<\/a>. \u00a0But I just learned a new technique and thought I&#8217;d pass it on.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2658\" src=\"http:\/\/www.threadedviews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_7546-1024x234.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_7546\" width=\"915\" height=\"209\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.threadedviews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_7546-1024x234.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.threadedviews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_7546-300x69.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.threadedviews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/IMG_7546-768x176.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 915px) 100vw, 915px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I started with 1\/4-inch-thick white ribbon. \u00a0Then I mixed some Pebeo silk paint to a nice green and painted it on. \u00a0The color is slightly different from one end of the stem to the other on purpose, for natural variation.<\/p>\n<p>Then I loaded my little brush with some of the lightening medium (pictured below) and stroked it down the middle of the stem. \u00a0It &#8220;washes out&#8221;
